Mourvedre
Mourvedre, also known as Monastrell, is Spain’s second most widely planted red variety, after Garnacha Tinta (Grenache). It is grown in Spain’s Rioja and Penedès regions and is extensively planted in the Alicante region. Monastrell wines are moderately colored, high in alcohol, and low in acidity.
