Fish Brewing Co.

From their home in beautiful Olympia, Washington, Fish Brewing Company has been hand-crafting ales of Northwest proportions since 1993. In the early days, using a system cobbled from brewing and dairy equipment, they brewed for their neighbors up and down Puget Sound. Growing steadily since, Fish is now an award-winning craft brewer operating under the expert leadership of Al Triplett, who has over 25 years of craft brewery experience encompassing many years at Redhook Ale Brewery.

Today, several distinct brands make their home under Fish Brewing’s roof. In the beginning there were Fish Tale Ales, English-style beers born in their Jefferson Street brewpub. It wasn’t long before the 15-barrel brew house there outgrew its cradle. In 1996 the brewery moved across Jefferson Street into the historic Skoog Building. Fish Brewing began bottling in the same facility in 1997.

At the turn of the century the brewing turned in a greener direction with the release of their first Certified Organic beer, award-winning Fish Tale Organic Amber Ale. Since then, Fish Tale Organic Pale Ale and Fish Tale Organic IPA have been added to the Organic line.

Spire Mountain Ciders, the nation’s oldest operating commercial craft cider maker, joined the Fish Brewing family in 2004. Today, Spire Mountain’s cidery occupies its own special corner of the brewery on Jefferson Street. Fish is proud of its long tradition of brewing delightful beers and ciders in the Pacific Northwest.
