Finca Agostino
Finca Agostino winery is located in the Argentinian province of Mendoza and is owned by the Agostino brothers: Vincenzo, Rosalía, Sebastian and Miguel. The four brothers grew up in Mendoza before settling with their family in Canada during the 1960s. Even though their new home was in Canada, Mendoza remained in their memories as the land of their childhood, when they would spend time with their grandfather, Sebastiano, surrounded by the vineyards in which he worked as a “contractor vintner.” Brought together by this enduring memory, the Agostino brothers promised themselves to one day return to Mendoza and fulfill their dream of building a winery that would not only honour their grandfather but also apply his teachings.
Convinced that the secret to a great wine is in the vineyard, they travelled the province for two years in search of the best location to grow grapes. In 2003, they finally acquired 630 acres in Barrancas, Maipu, with vines up to 60 years old, as well as 125 acres in La Consulta, Valle de Uco. The winery was built in the heart of the Barrancas estate, surrounded by picturesque gardens and fountains. The wines created at Finca Agostino are the product of a dream that, unlike so many dreams, eventually came true. They are a tribute to the family since, “A dream dreamt alone remains merely a dream; only when we dream together can this dream come true.”
