Rocca Felice estate

Our search for stunning wines brought us to the beautiful rolling hills in northwest Italy known as Piedmont. The southern region of Piedmont hosts the growth of the Nebbiolo grape, the base for Barolo. It is here in Serralunga d’Alba, in the center of Barolo’s top terrain, that we discovered Estate Cappallotto with the Cantina Rocca Felice.

This meticulous estate is owned by the third generation of the Lanzavecchia family. The family cultivates their 69-acre estate with the assistance of an excellent team of long-time vineyard professionals. They believe that tender care, the use of natural fertilizers and ongoing respect for the land ensures the consistent top quality of these “vin nobles.” The modern cellars of Rocca Felice were built in 1990 and operate according to the highest principles of vinification. Add to this the solid experience of aging wines in Slovenian oak barrels and French barriques, and the result is classically made Piedmontese wines.

We have chosen a full representation of wines from Rocca Felice. In addition to the Barolos, we are very impressed with their Barberesco selections, which is the neighbor to Barolo. Also, the classic varietal wines Barbera and Nebbiolo, both from Alba, are tremendous values for those wanting to experiment with the great wines of Piedmont.
