Some wines are offered under the Bordeaux or Bordeaux Supérieur Appellation Contrôlées (AC). Bordeaux’s primary appellations, which cover the entire region, are Bordeaux AC for red, white and rosé wines; and Bordeaux Supérieur AC, a designation for red and rosé wines that requires lower grape yields and slightly higher alcohol levels than basic Bordeaux. Most of these wines are drinkable when released, yet still reflect the style and elegance for which Bordeaux is known. Many of the wines are exceptional values and are a great way to introduce someone to Bordeaux.
