Who would have thought that you could drink a 60% spirit straight and not have it bite. So balanced and so well rounded. The fruit and sherry speaks volumes, but does not take over. Such harmony. So much flavor. A little goes a long way. My bar won't be without his one.

I've been drinking this for the last 6 or 7 years. I've had many different scotch's over the years, and rate this as my absolute favorite. The first bottle at TW&M I purchased was for $42 and had a 100, rating attached to it. Disregard the new 90 score as it has already received a 100 (if you're into the rating game that is). This is the only scotch I recommend to a Scotch drinker looking for something more/else. Bourbon drinkers will also enjoy this scotch, if they want to change it up.

Pour over a full glass of ice to the top. Let sit for 10 minutes and start tasting one of the greatest scotch whiskeys

The Aberlour 12 was very good, so for a special occasion, I decided to treat myself to the A'bunadh. So glad I did!
You will taste the high (cask strength) alcohol level on the first taste -- after that, however, you notice the smoothness. And the fact that the heat of the alcohol is balance by sweetness, spiciness, and a little bit of smokiness. Finally, you will notice that the finish goes on... for... days!
Exceptional. If I hit the jackpot, I will buy even more of it, but it's really not overpriced for what you get!

A'bundah is a no-age-statement whisky which Aberlour's master blenders release in relatively small batches. Currently, we are on batch #45. These batches may lead to variances between bottles, but I typically score these whiskies between an 86-91 so you can be confident a bottle of A'bundah will give you a good bang for your buck.
Bottled at ~ 60%ABV, you are getting a lot of whisky for the price! I will take a sip at full strength, but to truly appreciate the complexity of this spirit, try to take it down to somewhere around 40-46% ABV. Once you've added some water, nose it, taste it and cover it. Leave the glass covered for about 30 minutes and then come back to it. You will find that it has developed a rich cocoa aroma to accompany the leather, malt and spice which are the strongest flavors.

The only Scotch drinkers that won't like Aberlour A'bunadh are people who like their Scotch heavy on the peat. A.A. is hands down my favorite. Complex, an unbelievable value given it's cask strength. The only downside is the quality can vary from batch to batch. Mind you, that variation is a low end of "great" (example Batch 42) to a high end of utterly outstanding (Batch 45).

First had this in upper class on Virgin Atlantic. One of the finest I have had. For the price it is a great deal.

Purchased this bottle at TW&M in Ft. Myers Fl. I'd had the 12 yr. Abelour before a few times and thought it was a bargain for the price. My father-in-law received the A'bunadh as a gift and we each had a drink at his house. I was impressed and ordered a bottle for myself and a couple friends at the TW in Ft. Myers on a trip to Sanibel. I could say that the flavors are coconut, pomegranate and jalapeno pepper, but that wouldn't be accurate. What I will tell you is that you're in for a treat the first time you roll this over your tongue. Don't drink a lot, particularly if you like a few good brews with your scotch, and definitely drink it with ice to bring out the flavor. If you enjoy a story with your liquor, check out Wikipedia's page on A'bunadh. Cheers.
