Catena Malbec

Catena Malbec, 2010

Rated 5 out of 5 by I drink wine now I've always been a beer or mixed drink guy - probably because I was drinking all the wrong wine. This is great wine for just sipping or with food. I bought Catena Malbec, Rutherford Cabernet, Sextant Cabernet, and Alouette Pinot noir. All were better than the garbage I had tried from the grocery store but the Catena Malbec really stood out for taste/value. Would highly recommend as an inexpensive "gateway" wine for anyone that isn't a wine drinker! April 22, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Wine for the Price I received a bottle of Catena Malbec as a gift, and was anxious to compare it with the other Malbecs that we have enjoyed. In a word, it was excellent. I will be replenishing my supply of this fine wine post haste. November 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Malbec This Malbec is an exceptional value. I have tried many Malbec wines and find this one to be comparable to or exceed the flavor and value of many more expensive Malbecs. October 15, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great taste I have been enjoying full bodied caps and just started to step into the world of Malbecs. This has a nice medium to full bodied intensity lingers perfectly. I really enjoy this wine and highly recommend. September 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Fine Malbec I am a Malbec fan! This is one of the finest Malbecs even better than some more expensive ones. It pleases the palate with an elegant massage of dark, muscular fruit that has such a wonderful linger you really want to delay the swallow. It defines "Full Body". Its like comparing Twiggy with Beyonce or for us older guys, Jane Mansfield. It makes its pedigree proud. August 22, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Malbec Excellence This Malbec is very balanced, smooth and elegant. No acidic after taste -- lots of plum and black raspberry hints. May 31, 2013

Wine Advocate - Mendoza, Argentina- "... bouquet with tangible minerality: notes of blackberry, strawberry cheesecake, a touch of cassis and violets. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins on the entry. The acidity is crisp and lends tautness towards the succulent finish..."
