Rated 2 out of 5 by 2011 marks an unfortunate change to the formula I've been a big fan of all the Wagner family wines for two decades, including the offshoot Conundrum Wines. For years, it's been dependably rich and round, lots of melon, with a fantastic nose and a long, balanced finish. But 2011? Not so much. Maybe it's the grapes, maybe it was the weather, maybe (as rumored but confirmed by me) it's a change in winemaker. No matter the cause, the 2011 is - to me - very unpleasant. It has an overpowering minerality...tastes like someone emptied a sleeve of nickels into your mouth. Here's to hoping that 2012 will mark a return to prior greatness! September 3, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by new vintage and philosophy With the 2011 vintage, the winery has changed their approach to making Conundrum White. While still quite good, it is very different than the previous vintages - not nearly as complex and unique as in the past. July 15, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quality wine experience We have been buying cases of this from Costco for a number of years. We went to Total Wine for the first time because Costco no longer sells Conundrum. What a pleasant surprise...! Excellent selection of wines and with the case discount we pay just a little less than Costco. We are making Total Wine our regular point of purchase now. Conundrum is a fantastic wine. Complex enough to have straight or with ice (summer style). A smooth, wonderful, refreshing white wine. July 4, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Like a fine Chardonay This wine is a blend of whites.. The chardonay stands out and the other wines enhance it. Absolutely delicious. June 29, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Delicious but pricey This is a yummy wine. I had it for the first time at a friend's house. I do think it is a shade overpriced; I think you are paying for the name. June 7, 2013
