This is NOT a five or four star cognac. No one tasting this very nice and extremely reasonably priced cognac should confuse this with a "big house" Remy Martin, Hennessey, or Courvoisier XO. In fact ... this doesn't compare to a one hundred dollar bottles of Hardy XO. ................. However, what it is : a nicely priced , tasty, inexpensive bottle that is popular in the E.U. and will turn on many of your new novice cognac aficionados !

Powerful coffee and pepper on the nose. Honeymoons you with a smooth lingering citrus and sherry finish. This spirit is made by Camus and it tastes like Camus. It is aged only six years which is young for an XO. Tastes best if you let it aerate for 5 or 10 minutes before drinking. Inexperienced tasters may consider it austere because of the harsh flavors on the nose hence some bad reviews on the net. Look past that and you will be rewarded with complexity and a lingering finish for a great price. I heard rumors this is the best selling cognac in the EU the title is deserved.

I tried this with three other cognac enthusiasts and we four were impressed. The flavor profile given by TotalWine were correct. It was rich, prune, nut and long. The price added more incentive to buy this again . The only thing that I didn't get but got from the big cognac houses like Hennessy is wood.
