Concha Y Toro Diablo Cabernet

Concha Y Toro Diablo Cabernet

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by 2012 vintage Deep cranberry red color. Medium varietal nose with some of the distinctive green olive notes typical of cabernet sauvignon; lively when first opened; tempered, but still potent after an hour or so of air (that is, when first opened, the alcohol contributes to the nose, but with time the alcohol becomes less apparent and the nose becomes more mellow). Medium body; nice varietal flavors; fruity; balanced with assertive acidity and a nice finish, again becoming a bit mellower with time. A very nice wine that displays distinctive character and is a cut above the average house red. Review 64 A word about how I use these five star ratings - I recognize that people have wildly different tastes, and I recognize that there are many different styles of winemaking for each variety of grape. I also recognize that most bottles of wine have been well crafted. That said, it is unlikely that we will encounter a truly bad bottle of bad wine, but it is inevitable that we will encounter wines that are not to our taste. Just because I don't like a wine does not mean it is a bad wine - it will appeal to someone. When I give a wine five stars, it means that I liked it, it met my expectations, and I will buy it again. If a wine does not meet my expectations, yet seems to be well made, I will probably give it three stars, and explain why the wine was not as I expected. I will also leave a comment so that you might determine if the wine will appeal to your taste. Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Value Let it breath for an hour or longer and you will enjoy every single sip or slurp. Tell your guests it cost $35 and they will believe it. November 19, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by my fave $8 Cab this is my house wine (daily drinker / what u get if you come over unannounced and act thirsty). Definitely better if breathed for an hr, but can b opened and drank in a pinch. This is twice as good as most $5-$6 Cabs and well-worth the extra couple of bucks. Excellent with burgers / pizza, and really a decent 2nd btl if you've finished off your opening act btl. November 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Value - Great Taste - Nice Finish We had the wine for the first time at Anna- Maria's in Aruba. Our server headed us in the direction of this light and yet bolder Cab. Not only was the dinner a hit, the three bottles of wine were wonderful. October 4, 2013

Central Valley, Chile- Gorgeous and lovely bright cherry aromas, with blackcurrant, dark plum and toasted oak. Medium bodied with silky tannins and long, ripe fruit and berry aftertaste.
