Grangestone 21yr Single Malt Scotch Whiskey

Grangestone 21yr Single Malt Scotch Whiskey

Rated 2 out of 5 by Very balanced and smooth, but not very interesting. Sweetness, honey and dried fruit on both the nose and palate, giving way to green herbs and leather. Smooth and no surprises, a profile no doubt appealing to many. The finish was disappointing, taking time to develop, never distinguishing itself and dissipating quickly. It's a decent scotch and value, especially for regular rum or bourbon drinkers trying scotch for the first time. I would not recommend or present it to a friend that knows good scotch. I'm sure some would disagree but I find it lacking in any defining character, too generic and seemingly engineered for the masses. I like her, but I could never fall in love with her. April 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Delicious and grows more complicated over time #CNPF #scotchNsniff #SlainteMhath Color: Browned Chestnut Nose: Winey, full of sherry and Armagnac; solvent Palate: Initial arrival is sharp, mellows to woodsy; thin not coating; toasted cereal. Finish: lingers but subdued light smoke; sour March 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing This was the first bottle in my home. I was blown away at how smooth and silky this drinks. I love the subtle sweetness that I get on the finish. The only "bad" thing about it is it's too easy to reach the bottom of the bottle....especially when friends come over. December 30, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Best of the Best The Grangestone 12 yr and 18 yr are wonderful Single Malts> However, the 21 yr., was a treat that was truly surprising. I didn't expect the difference to be so extreme. It is the best Highland single malt I've tasted. A dash of filtered water only enhanced its virtues. Try it you won't be disappointed.
