Nobilo Pinot Noir Icon

Nobilo Pinot Noir Icon, 2009

Rated 4 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nobilo NZ Pinot Noir Icon 2011 comes from Marlborough, the northern tip of the Southern Island in New Zealand. The label says full-bodied, but it's really more what the Website here says: medium-bodied. I let it breath 4 hrs in a big water pitcher before drinking. A decent, solid player for $20, altho I prefer my PN's to be more on the full-bodied side (see: Alouette [$25] from Caymus, Penner-Ash [$40], or Ken Wright [$50] ). On the upside, PN's this good used to be $30-$35, so the PN market is improving affordability-wise. Once again, the label says it goes well with lamb...I see it as too light for that...I'd recommend it with chicken or fish. I would buy it again. October 28, 2013

Concentrated, Plum, Spice, Earth, Medium-bodied

New Zealand- Having a medium-body, and showing complexity flavors of rich plum pudding, balanced by hints of savory and spice. The tannin structure is soft with lengthy finish and mouth-feel. Earthy, elegant Pinot Noir with lingering mouth feel and finish.
