Pisano Tannat Merlot Cisplatino

Pisano Tannat Merlot Cisplatino

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by 2011 vintage Deep brick red color. Light to medium nose; very elegant; smells expensive; leathery - reminiscent of Rioja Reserva. Medium body; well balanced; smooth tannins; easy to drink. A word about how I use these five star ratings - I recognize that people have wildly different tastes, and I recognize that there are many different styles of winemaking for each variety of grape. I also recognize that most bottles of wine have been well crafted. That said, it is unlikely that we will encounter a truly bad bottle of bad wine, but it is inevitable that we will encounter wines that are not to our taste. Just because I don't like a wine does not mean it is a bad wine - it will appeal to someone. When I give a wine five stars, it means that I liked it, it met my expectations, and I will buy it again. If a wine does not meet my expectations, yet seems to be well made, I will probably give it three stars, and explain why the wine was not as I expected. I will also leave a comment so that you might determine if the wine will appeal to your taste. March 8, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Incredibly delicious and a very good value Uruguay is known for its Tannats, and this blend is phenomenally smooth and textured. One of the best wines I have ever tasted. September 9, 2013

Progresso,Uruguay- An exciting value from an up-and-coming wine region, estate bottled by the Pisano family. The full-bodied palate expresses rich black fruits and ripe tannins framed with a creamy vanilla ending. Serve with grilled meats, roasted vegetables and pork dishes.
