Unoaked Chardonnay
Unoaked tends to be lighter than oaked Chardonnay with a little less alcohol. It’s crisp, acidic and refreshing.
Oaked Chardonnay
Aged in oak barrels, this Chardonnay is bold and buttery. It'll also be smoother, softer, and less acidic than an unoaked Chardonnay.
Cool Climates
When Chardonnay is grown in cool climates, the weather and early harvest bring out the citrusy flavors in the wine. It's bright, acidic and sometimes has mineral notes.
Warm Climates
Chardonnay stays on the vine longer in warm climates, allowing the grapes to ripen and produce more sugar. What you get is a mellow rich, fruit-forward Chardonnay with notes of tropical fruit.
