Brouwerij Martens

In 1758, the world was in the midst of the Seven Years’ War; George Washington was a young 26 years old; and James Madison, the father of the U.S. Constitution, was just seven years old. It was also the year that the Martens family founded Brouwerij Martens in Bocholt, Belgium, not far from the borders of Germany and the Netherlands.

More than 250 years later, this eighth-generation family business has evolved into the third-largest brewery in Belgium. In 2007, operations moved into a brand-new, state-of-the-art continuous brewery with energy-efficient design.

Martens’ signature beer, Martens Pilsener, is packaged in distinctive 16.9-ounce cans. A classic European Pale Lager/International Pilsner style, it delivers a notable hop character while remaining refreshingly drinkable.
