Product Highlights

England- Cream Ale- This Irish Cream Ale dates back to 1810 from Co. Wexford. Brewed to an original family recipe using Irish malt and hops, Wexford has a smooth mellow creaminess from the widget in the can.

Subtype / Style

A variation of English Pale Ale, Irish Red Ale comes with a notable dash of roasted barley, giving the beer a dry, roasted finish and its reddish hue, although “Red Ale” can range into the amber and copper shades. This malt showcase has a very low hop influence in aroma, flavor and bitterness, which leaves the malty-sweet caramel and toffee notes to shine, often along with some toasty character. Roasted grains in Irish Red Ale can contribute to a perceived low-to-moderate level of bitterness, which colder serving temperatures can accentuate. Medium-bodied, it has a smooth mouth-feel. Interestingly, a few beers on the market labeled “Irish Red” are brewed as lager, not ale.
