Single Malt Scotch

Learn about the differences between Single Malt Scotch Whisky and blended Scotch Whisky.

Single Malt Scotch Whisky is made from 100 percent malted barley and is the product of just one distillery. This is in contrast to most Scotch Whiskies, which are blends of malt and grain Whiskies and vats from different distilleries.

Some Single Malts may even come from a single vat or barrel, while others are blends from many vats or barrels within the distillery.

Single Malt Scotch must be produced and bottled in Scotland. With strong and distinctive flavors unique to the distillery, they’re considered by enthusiasts to be the pinnacle of the Whisky distiller’s art.
