E. Guigal White Wine

Cotes du Rhone, Rhone, France- This well made white is intensely fruity, rich and elegantly balanced. It offers a fresh enticing bouquet of white flowers, acacia, white peach, which follow through on the palate with a terrific soft yet crisp finish.

Rhone, France - "Aged in one-third new barrels and two-thirds in tank, it's a rich, unctuous, thrillingly textured beauty that has plenty of orange blossom, flower oil, tangerine and peach. Fruit-loaded, with just a touch of minerality..."

France - Rhone - Chateauneuf-du-Pape- Lush and expressive with layers of pear, white peach, and honeysuckle, lifted by citrus zest and a touch of minerality. Silky yet structured, it offers depth and freshness in equal measure—beautifully crafted with real character and aging potential.

France - Rhone - Hermitage - "This white pulls off the heavily oaked style well. A robe of toasty cedar and grilled hazelnut notes overlays a core of yellow apple, persimmon and melon. Salty and savory, with smoke and herb details filigreeing the creamy palate. Oolong tea..."

St. Joseph, Rhone, France- "Always a star among the Guigal whites, the 2018 Saint-Joseph Lieu-Dit Saint-Joseph Blanc...it's toasty and oaky up front, but it backs that veneer with notes of grilled pear, melon and pineapple. Full-bodied and rich, it's ripe and plush..."

Hermitage, Rhone, France - "...notes of quince, honeyed minerality, toasted spices, orange marmalade, and spring flowers, this deep, rich, and full-bodied white has absorbed just about every trace of its oak elevage and has a concentrated, rich, yet focused and lengthy style..."

Rhone, France- "...gives up plenty of golden fruits, honeysuckle and that obvious Hermitage minerality to go with medium to full-bodied richness and depth on the palate. It's classic stuff, with a great finish, and will keep for over a decade, although it's certainly terrific today."

Rhone, France- "...is up there with the creme de la creme, and just might be the wine of the vintage in the region. Stunning notes of buttered peach, creme brulee, white flowers, and honeysuckle all literally soar from the glass. Deep, rich, medium to full-bodied...pure and elegant."

Rhone Valley, France- " The nose is so complex with apricot custard and brulee, as well as roasted hazelnuts and all manner of baking spices. Some mangoes and peaches, too. The texture is so supple, rich and beautifully silky, really bathed in flavor, and already drinking wonderfully."

Hermitage, Rhone, France - "Brilliant notes of creme brulee, caramelized fruits, honeysuckle and brioche. Silky, pure and elegant, with classy richness in its full-bodied, textured, balanced personality." [BARREL SCORE 94-96+]
