Yakima Valley, Columbia Valley, WA- " This wine is a perennial value. The 2017 Syrah Ex Umbris, a blend of Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvedre, brought up in neutral oak, gives up terrific amounts of smoky black and blue fruits, ground pepper, bouquet garni, and bacon fat."

Willamette Valley, Oregon- "This has deep-set complexity on the nose with attractive ripe cherries, framed in ground baking spices. The palate follows with strongly integrated spices and red cherries, as well as some riper plum and kirsch notes. Long, fine tannins and a finish fresh."

Yakima, Washington- Powerful flavors of rick black fruits, deftly interwoven with notes of wild violet and mocha. Luscious blackcurrant is mingled with flavors of purple sage and savory herb. A beautifully structured, long finish.
