Place sugar cube in a flute. Drop bitters onto sugar cube and let it soak for a minute. Add Cognac and top with Champagne. Top with cranberries to add color (optional).

A wedding-oriented take on the famous winter comfort drink, this mulled wine will add a touch of sweetness to the reception.

Ingredients

  • 4 c. pomegranate juice
  • 1 - 750 ml bottle of red wine
  • 1/4 c. of apple cider
  • 1/4 c. of Brandy
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • Nutmeg
  • Brown sugar
  • Apples and cranberries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Combine the pomegranate juice, apple cider, nutmeg and brown sugar in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil, then simmer over low heat for 15 minutes. Stir in wine, cinnamon sticks and Brandy until heated through. Ladle the mulled wine into glasses and garnish with apple slices and cranberries.
