The Clare Valley is a gem of an appellation within the great expanse of South Australia wine country. Beautiful and diverse, the region actually comprises a group of small, elevated valleys north of Adelaide and the Barossa Valley. Clare Valley Cabernet and Shiraz are the area’s most successful red varieties. In some sections of Clare Valley, cooled by ocean breezes from the south, Riesling is grown with great success, producing dry and ageworthy white wines.
