Pernand-Vergelesses

Pernand-Vergelesses, at the northern end of Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune, includes eight Premier Cru sites, and shares two Grands Crus with neighboring Aloxe-Corton: Corton for red wines and Corton-Charlemagne for white wines. Pernand-Vergelesses wines bearing the simple village appellation are also of very good quality, and typically less expensive than many comparable Burgundies. Red wines, made with Pinot Noir, typically display notes of red berries and flowers that over time add flavors of spice and underbrush. Similarly, Pernand-Vergelesses white wines, made from Chardonnay, start with floral aromas that age into honey and spice notes.
