Pouilly-Fuissé

Pouilly-Fuissé is an appellation encompassing four villages in Burgundy's Mâconnais region: Solutré-Pouilly, Fuissé, Vergisson and Chaintre. Chardonnay vines are scattered over the hillsides at altitudes of 1,000 to 1,300 feet on a series of amphitheatre-like slopes, which help maximize sun exposure.

Pouilly-Fuissé wines, 100 percent Chardonnay, are well-balanced, with crisp acidity, rich white fruit and citrus flavors and a refreshing finish. Hints of mineral and stone flavors are also reflected in these wines. Traditionally, Pouilly-Fuissé spends little or no time in oak, aging in stainless steel tanks.

Don’t confuse Pouilly-Fuissé with Pouilly-Fumé, a Sauvignon Blanc wine from the Loire Valley.
