Mâconnais

Burgundy’s Mâconnais district runs south for 30 miles, past the city of Mâcon and into the northern edge of the Beaujolais region. It includes some of the best-known appellations for white Burgundy wines: Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint-Véran and Mâcon-Villages. In the local style, these Chardonnay wines are made with very little oak influence, crisp, and clean with flavors and aromas of apple, pear and lemon.
