Late-harvest wines are made from grapes that have been left on the vine until late in autumn, beyond the typical harvest season, until they are very ripe and concentrated. Late-harvest wines are noted for their rich, deep, honeyed flavors. Those made with white grapes – Riesling, Moscato, Pinot Gris and others – are gold in color, range from sweet to very sweet, and depending on the grape variety used, range from light- to full-bodied. Late-harvest wines are ideal dessert wines.
