It’s entirely possible to love Garganega and never have heard of the grape. This white Italian variety is rarely served up as a varietal wine, but it’s the main ingredient in Soave, the popular white wine of the Veneto region, and a common grape for blending in white wines from the Veneto.

The best Soaves, typically produced in the Soave Classico and Soave Superiore subzones around the village of Soave itself, are zesty and dry, with notes of lemon and almonds.
