Valserrano wines are produced at Bodegas de la Marquesa, in Spain’s Rioja Alavesa region. These outstanding Rioja wines, produced in limited quantities, exemplify the elegance of Spain’s best wines.
Although the Marquis de Solana founded the winery in 1880, it was not until 1996 that the family-owned property adopted the name Viñedos y Bodegas de la Marquesa. Keeping with tradition, only grapes sourced directly from the family’s 148 acres of vineyards are used to produce Valserrano wines.
The Valserrano vineyards run from the sunny lower slopes of the Cantabrian mountains to the banks of the Ebro River. The vines, averaging more than 20 years of age, are planted with Tempranillo other indigenous varieties, including Mazuelo, Graciano and Viura.
