What is Sake?
Sake is Japanese alcoholic beverage made from fermenting rice in a process that is like brewing. While many refer to sake as “rice wine”, sake is not really a wine at all, but more akin to a beer, as shown in its production (brewing) methods. The quality and taste of sake is usually based on how much of the rice has been polished or milled. There are five main styles of sake: Junmai-shu, Ginjo-shu, Daiginjo-shu, Honjozo-shu, and Namazake. Sake is a popular drink to pair with raw sushi, but there are many types of food to pair with sake including cooked seafood, curry, and caviar (to name a few).
What is Plum Wine?
Plum Wine is just what its name means: Wine made from plums. Wine does not have to come from only grapes. In fact, some people prefer wine of other fruits. Plum Wine can be used as strictly dessert wines or as a wine served with appetizers and entrees. Plum wine pairs well with a variety of foods, including grilled meats, pasta, fruit salad, and seafood.
