Bardolino

Located in the Veneto region, Bardolino is known for light-bodied red blends staring Corvina grapes.

Bardolino, the bright and light-bodied red wine, is made in the western part of the Veneto region, at the southern end of Lake Garda, around the town of Bardolino. Bardolino Classico DOCG encompasses the wine’s historic production zone; the Bardolino DOC is a larger area. To be labeled Bardolino Superiore, the wine must meet higher production standards, be slightly higher in alcohol and age for at least one year. Bardolino vinified as Rosé is known as Chiaretto – the “little light one.”

All versions of Bardolino comprise a blend of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes. A similar blend is used on the other side of the Adige River to make Valpolicella wines.
