Vacqueyras

Vacqueyras, in the heart of the Southern Rhone, is one of the region’s newest appellations, acquiring its designation in 1990. The Grenache-based red wines produced here range from fruity and easy-drinking in style to robust and intense with ripe tannins. Red and black fruits dominate the aroma and flavors, with the Rhone’s classic earth, olive and spice notes also present. The reds of Vacqueyras are a tremendous value, as they’re less well-known than those from the neighboring appellations of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Gigondas.
