Fleurie

Fleurie, one of the 10 designated Cru Beaujolais villages, is sometimes referred to as the Queen of Beaujolais. Fleurie produces pure, lush, silky red wines offering aromas of violets and flavors of bright red fruit. These wines, made from the Gamay grape, lack the tannins found in the wines of nearby Moulin-à-Vent, so many find Fleurie wines especially approachable and easy to drink. Fleurie wines from top domains can age for five to six years. Serve Fleurie slightly chilled with cheeses, roast chicken and grilled meats.
