Pommard is the most full-bodied red wine of Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune, velvety and round with intense red- and dark-fruit flavors and ripe tannins. With aging, flavors of leather and chocolate will develop. Made entirely of Pinot Noir, Pommard wines may also have rustic notes on the palate. Classic big Burgundies, they are meant to pair with hearty meals.
The Pommard appellation includes 28 Premier Cru vineyards recognized for producing exceptional wines.
