Mâcon-Villages wines, made within the larger Maconnais region of southern Burgundy , must come from one or more of the 26 villages designated for the production of this Chardonnay wine.
The warmer climate of the Mâcon-Villages hillsides gives the wines softness not found in the more austere whites of Burgundy appellations further north. These are very attractive everyday wines, typically medium-bodied, but with little oak influence. They are nicely balanced, with a refreshing texture and finish, offering fresh floral and citrus aromas and white fruit flavors.
