Hawke’s Bay is New Zealand’s second largest wine region and home to one of the busiest wine tourism trails on the North Island. It’s home to some of New Zealand’s oldest wineries. The diverse climate, coupled with a wide range of soil types, helps to produce a range of Hawke’s Bay wine styles. Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc are the most popular varieties planted in Hawke’s Bay.
