Pouilly-Fumé is a 100 percent Sauvignon Blanc wine, produced at the eastern end of the Loire Valley in Central France. There, eight small villages make up the Pouilly-Fumé appellation.
The limestone soils produce grapes that make medium- to light-bodied wines, zesty with citrus and mineral notes.
Don’t confuse Pouilly-Fumé with Pouilly-Fuissé, a Chardonnay wine from Burgundy.
